I MAKE THINGS.
As a kid, I remember going down to my dad’s basement workshop often, fascinated with the tools, wood, and small parts. I found this tiny world to be a magical place. Humble as it seemed, this is where I first fell in love with making things. Based on this early life experience, I initially developed a passion for sculpture, but as my practice evolved, I also became a committed painter and master printmaker. This fusion of all three disciplines developed into an incredible journey that evolved my signature style of highly textural and dimensional surfaces that I am known for today.
What drives me in my work is as much about process, exploration, and curiosity as it is about execution. I believe these divergent attributes come together, informing each other along the way, resulting in an outcome that confirms and expresses a well thought-out plan or offers a new and unexpected solution. The excitement of exploring various mediums, formats, construction techniques, and concepts creates a multitude of possibilities and new directions. The unknown, rather than the familiar, is what inspires my creativity and keeps the process exciting, motivating, and continually inspiring.
